چکیده
is common in the crossing of strawberry varieties but that it has not been recognized because of the similarity of the parent plants used. In the cases reported here, the parent plants were so strikingly different in size and appearance, in spite of their having the same number of chromosomes, that paternal and maternal inheritance could be easily recognized. The knowledge that this type of inheritance can be obtained from crossing two plants of the same chromosome number which readily hybridize is useful in making studies on inheritance, and it will obviate the necessity of working with crosses between plants of different chromosome numbers which are rather difficult to obtain.6

متن کاملThymus dependence of tapeworm (Hymenolepis diminuta) elimination from mice.
Although normal mice eliminated the lumen-dwelling intestinal cestode Hymenolepis diminuta by day 21 post-cysticercoid inoculation, congenitally thymus-deficient (nude) mice maintained their work burdens. Nude mice grafted with thymus glands or injected with thymus cells eliminated their worms.
متن کاملLead Modulation on Adoptive Immune Response in Mice
Recipient Swiss albino mice which received sensitized cells from peritoneal exudates (PEC), thymus (T) and bone marrow(BM) were exposed to lead and challenged with human dwarf tapeworm Hymenolepis nana. Oral lead exposure suppressed the immune response as indicatd by low values of different fractions of immunoglobulins and increase in susceptibility to infection at larval and adult developmenta...
متن کاملEffect of Immune Responses Against Hydatid Cyst Antigens on Growth of Melanoma Tumor
Background: Hydatid cyst is the larval stage of the tape worm parasite, Echinococcus granulosus. Human is infected by ingestion of parasite ova excreted in dog feces. The anticancer activity of different antigens of hydatid cyst has been reported in the previous works. In this research, the role of immune system in induction of this anticancer activity has been investigated.Materials and Method...
